• About my research:
  • Over the years, as an amateur, I have done a great deal of research on the life history of the Lucanidae species in my area, Colchester. First, with Lucanus cervus and later on with Dorcus parallelipipedus, which turned up to be completely different. Then I reached the point that I would need a superb lab and a lot of funding to find the answer to my questions. Therefore, currently I'm only looking at how Lucanus cervus responds to freshly generated habitats. For example: trees who have recently been cut and their asssociated fungi; plus logs and wood chip piles.
  • I'm still researching Cetonia aurata's winter diapause.
