Inside front cover - female stag beetle pyrogravure on chestnut wood, by Carim Nahaboo, December 2008.
Book lovingly made by my husband, David Fremlin, using local wood from the Oakyard Workshops, Maria Martins Cottage, Martins Lane, Polstead, Suffolk CO6 5AG. Dylan Pym cut the covers from chestnut, the spine is oak.
The design was by my late mother-in-law, Reinet Fremlin, who made our first visitors book in 1972.
The pyrogravures were Carim Nahaboo's first attempt at this technique. For more about his work visit The stag beetle life cycle. Contact: carimnahaboo"AT"yahoo.co.uk
